In the 1980s, Amitabh Bachchan found himself embroiled in a scandal that significantly impacted his career.
Aanjjan Srivastav, apart from being an actor, had a background in banking. His bank was involved in the financial affairs of Amitabh Bachchan’s company, ABCL, which faced significant financial difficulties.
When the overdraft loan exceeded its limit, Canara Bank filed a lawsuit against Amitabh Bachchan. Aanjjan advised against legal action and instead suggested a meeting with the actor.
During the meeting, Amitabh assured them that he would repay the money. However, Aanjjan clarified that they were there to address an error made by Amitabh’s accountant.
Eventually, after the success of Kaun Banega Crorepati in the early 2000s, Amitabh managed to get rid of the debt.
