Ambareesh Political Career:

Ambareesh, also known as Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath, was a prominent Indian actor and politician from Karnataka. He began his political career by joining the Indian National Congress (INC) in 1994, campaigning for the party in the assembly election. However, after being denied a ticket to contest the 1996 general election, he left the INC and joined the Janata Dal, winning the 1998 general election from Mandya.

Ambareesh served as a three-time member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, representing Mandya. He also held the position of Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting from 2006 to 2007 during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s tenure. Later, he served as the Minister of Housing in the Karnataka Government as part of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s cabinet from 2013 to 20163. Ambareesh’s political journey also saw him rejoining the INC, where he continued to represent Mandya in the Lok Sabha for two more terms. His political career was marked by his dedication to public service and his popularity among the people of Karnataka.
