Controversies:

In August 2018, Rupali Ganguly was attacked by two men on a bike at a traffic signal in Mumbai. The men broke her car’s window and hurled abuses at her. The incident happened after Rupali’s car accidentally touched the bike of the two men at Bharat Nagar Signal in Mumbai. The actress even apologised to them for her mistake but they were not ready to listen. She filed a police complaint against them and later shared her ordeal on social media.

In June 2021, there were rumours of a rift between Rupali Ganguly and her co-star Sudhanshu Pandey, who plays her husband Vanraj in Anupamaa. The rumours started after Sudhanshu posted a picture with his on-screen lover Madalsa Sharma and did not tag Rupali in it. Fans speculated that there was some cold war between the two actors and that they were not on talking terms. However, both Rupali and Sudhanshu denied the rumours and clarified that they were good friends and had no issues with each other. They also posted pictures and videos with each other to prove their cordial relationship.

In October 2021, Rupali Ganguly faced some criticism from a section of viewers who felt that her character Anupamaa was becoming too modern and independent. They felt that she was losing her traditional values and was disrespecting her husband and in-laws. Some also accused her of promoting divorce and feminism.
