In August 2018, Rupali Ganguly was attacked by two men on a bike at a traffic signal in Mumbai. The men broke her car’s window and hurled abuses at her. The actress even apologised to them for her mistake but they were not ready to listen. She filed a police complaint against them and later shared her ordeal on social media.

In June 2021, there were rumours of a rift between Rupali Ganguly and her co-star Sudhanshu Pandey, who plays her husband Vanraj in Anupamaa. The rumours started after Sudhanshu posted a picture with his on-screen lover Madalsa Sharma and did not tag Rupali in it.
